Frequently Asked Questions

We have curated this guide to ensure your efforts to attend our celebrations is as seamless as possible. Find answers to common queries regarding travel, attire, and our shared schedule.

General Questions

When is the RSVP deadline?

We kindly ask that you respond by October 10, 2026. This allows us to ensure every detail is perfectly arranged for your arrival.

Is there a specific dress code?

We are celebrating with a traditional Catholic nuptial mass. Therefore, we request that all guests dress to reflect the holiness of the sacrament and the majesty of Our Lord Jesus Christ. For women, this entails covered shoulders, hem at or below the knee, nothing  skin-tight, and modest necklines. For men,  a suit and tie is appropriate.  If you feel compelled to take part in the Celtic heritage that will be celebrated, please feel free to wear a kilt and/or your favorite tartan/plaid!

What is Joslyn Castle like?

The Joslyn is a century old manor which means there are some large staircases but there are restrooms on the first floor and an elevator that takes you to the second floor where there are additional restrooms. There are stairs to enter the castle in the front, but for those with mobility issues, there is a small chair lift at the back of the castle that on-site staff will assist with.

Is the wedding child-friendly?

While we would love to invite all children, we are only able to accommodate children of bridal party members or those directly involved with the wedding. This is due to significant seating and capacity  limitations for safety purposes.

Will alcohol be provided?

Beer, wine, and soda will be provided along with two signature cocktails to reflect the season and the couple.

Can I bring a plus one?

Due to seating limitations, only guests specified on the invitation are invited. For example, an address of the Smith Family includes everyone in the household. If the invitation specifies Mr. and Mrs. Smith, only the couple is invited. If the invitation says Mr. Smith, no plus one is accounted for.

How long is the ceremony?

The Catholic nuptial mass is one hour to an hour and 15 minutes long long but please prepare to be at the church 15 minutes early.

What will the food be like?

The menu is available here. We also indicated what is gluten free and what is not.

Is it really on a Wednesday?

You read correctly, it is on a Wednesday!

Is there any significance to your wedding day?

There is an old Irish saying that goes:

"When December's rain fall fast, marry and true love will last."

It was tradition to steer couples away from marrying in the summer because these were the "busy times" in Irish life - when farmers were planting and tending their fields and sheepherders were tending their flocks.  Weddings and other celebrations were saved for the quieter months, when the village had time to dedicate to the event.

 Airports

Eppley Airport (OMA) is the nearest airport to the festivities.
